Affirmations
af·fir·ma·tion
The act of affirming or the state of being affirmed; assertion.A statement of the existence or truth of something.
"Whether you believe that you can or whether you believe you can't, you're right!" - Henry Ford
Simply put, a belief is an emotional state of certainty that brings with it a sense of knowing.
My primary point is your beliefs will need to support you if you are going to achieve each of the goals you have set.
What's interesting is you can benefit from the power of electricity simply by flicking on a light switch.
You don't have to understand the theories of alternating current or the different effects of amperage or polarity.
So it is with the application of this strategy. While you will discover the tools of your imagination, belief and emotion, you don't need a great level of intellectual understanding to apply what you will find here. Like flicking on a light switch ... empowerment works!
Steven DeVore said, "I noticed an almost universal trait among Super Achievers, and that is what I call Sensory Goal Vision. These people knew what they wanted out of life, and they could sense it multi-dimensionally before they ever had it. They could not only see it, but also taste it, smell it, and imagine the sounds and emotions associated with it. They pre-lived it before they had it. And that sharp, sensory vision became a powerful driving force in their lives."
THE TOOL OF IMAGINATION
"What you see is what you get." - Flip Wilson
As human beings we are different from the animals. They have only mere instincts. We have been crafted with creative imaginations. Thus, we are more than just creations, we are also creators. We hold the power to direct our imagination and, as we do, like movie directors, each of us can create our desired outcomes.
Perhaps you have witnessed world-class athletes in the high jump. Many of them rock back and forth, sometimes for up to a minute before they actually launch out down the runway.
Have you ever wondered, "What on earth are they doing?"According to sports psychologists, they are seeing, experiencing and feeling the successful high jump within before they experience it without.
What's more, a champion in the high jump (or in any sort of discipline for that matter) never launches out picturing failure, hitting the cross bar in his or her mind or imagination.
Champions engage their creative imaginations to see themselves being successful before it ever happens.
In the game of golf, for example, there are definite basic fundamentals, such as stance, grip and swing, which must be correctly understood and applied.
The ability to see the swing flawlessly executed in your imagination, however, with the ball dropping into the cup, has a great deal to do with the creation of the perfect shot.
Tiger Woods sees the ball drop into the hole before he takes the putt. Michael Jordan sees the three pointer before he turns it loose and you hear swish.
The champion says, "Why should I picture failure? I don't want failure, I want success!"
"Losers visualise the penalties of failure. Winners visualise the rewards of success." - William S. Gilbert
You too can use your imagination to see yourself achieving each of your goals. By witnessing the successful triumphs that await you in your imagination first, you will also be equipped to throw your mind over the crossbar so that your body can then follow.
